A chimney crown was added, as well as a drip edge, or drip cap on the chimney. You can see a drip edge shadow near the top of both chimneys in the old photo. This detail was typical of the time period; this one is rather simple with one course for the drip edge. Referencing the historic photo (below), we recreated details of the stone cap as much as possible. In the MLS photo from 1996, the crown and cap appear to missing; so they have been gone for quite a while.

A heavy wall stainless steel flue liner was installed, surrounded by lightweight concrete of perlite and portland cement that offers zero clearance to combustibles.

Reproduction novelty siding on front, sides, and rear of the original structure. The addition will have board and batten, much the same as the original kitchen addition.
